Synclavier (Needs confirmation of the model or version!) Keyboards with Polyphonic aftertouch (regardless of the midi implementation): I love this stuff, these are always unpredictable techniques but you can get some lovely stuff. There are presets, standard waves, but you can go Bob Hoskins mental in a dustbin if you like. One final unusual synth feature is from a software synth, but considering it was made in 1986 and ran on an Amiga 1000 I will add it here: Aegis Sonix gives you a completely definable oscillator you can draw in (unsure how many harmonics there are but it's a quite big box and each pixel can be drawn) AND the same for its LFO. Unusual function generator envelopes where each segment can be a different shape, linear, zigzags, chaos, curved etc: Emu Morpheus/Ultra Proteus. Yamaha A5000 has a 16 step LFO per voice like integra. There are also synths that let you sync samples or unusual waveforms.Blofeld, Microwave, SQ80, JD990 (monophonic only on JD) the results are often unusable with two complex waves but more controllable with duller ones. They always usually have wavefolding and ring mod options as well. EX5/7, Blofeld, Kurzweil K series (I think). Slightly different from RCM, there are synths which can FM samples against themselves, e.g. I haven't read this thread in a while, real interesting.a few ideas:
